The SureFire 6PX Tactical is just that - a flashlight designed specifically for tactical use. Providing simplicity of operation and tremendous illuminating power in a small package, it uses a high-efficiency LED - virtually immune to failure since there's no filament to burn out or break - to generate a brilliant, penetrating, perfectly pre-focused 600-lumen beam. The 6PX is activated by SureFire's classic tactical tailcap switch - press for momentary-on, twist for constant-on. The high-strength aerospace aluminum body is smoothly sculpted for a secure grip and is hard anodized to military specifications for extreme resistance to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion. A polycarbonate micro-textured reflector delivers a comparatively wider beam with generous peripheral light.

Comparing Surefire to Streamlight ProTac Series, I'd rather spend the extra $13 and get the Surefire, which has a more useful 15 lumen low power, for much longer use. Also, the Surefire reflectors put out a pure, smooth beam of light, with a smooth circle of light around the center spot. The quality is evident. No apparent lines or shadows in the circle of light. Just illumination. Also, I really like the simplicity of the tailcap. One quick light press gets you temporary low, which you can keep as long as you hold the tailcap button down, or if you press harder, it goes immediately to constant low. Then, you can jump from Low to High just as quickly, with High either being temporary or constant. It's very simple, intuitive, and quick, which is what you want in high-stress situations. No programming, or sorting through several different levels of light, strobe, etc. to get the light level where you want. 600 lumens, and 15 lumens. All you need. 52 hour run time on low to save battery usage. Great products!
