The Streamlight ProTac HL 3 Professional Tactical Light puts 1,100 lumens of bright light in the palm of your hand. This flashlight uses TEN-TAP programming to provide you with three different lighting levels: high for maximum output, low for extended runtime, and strobe for signaling your location. The light is produced with C4 LED technology, and Solid State power regulation maximizes light output throughout the life of the battery. The body is made from incredibly strong aircraft-grade aluminum, and features an anti-roll head to keep the flashlight in one place when it is set down. With a removable pocket clip for easy carrying and a push-button tail switch for one-handed operation, this flashlight delivers bright illumination at all angles.

I called and placed the order for the flashlight, and I think it came within 2 days. I wasn't expecting it to come so fast, so that was great.
I had a trial and error, trying to figure out how to operate it on strobe. I takes two, very gentle push's of the button, don't push it in all the way, then a full push to lock on the strobe.
It is an incredibly bright light, well worth it. The batteries for it at Walmart, cost almost $10, each, it takes two, so that is the only draw back.
I was thinking of buying some for my kids too.
Good value, I think the only thing brighter would be a Thermonuclear bomb.
But, that would be bigger than the 7 " that this flashlight is.

While this light puts out a great amount of light, and seems to be built well, I will not using this in any front line conditions at all. I have used this light 5 times now and after no more than 4-5 minutes of it being on, it becomes extremely hot to the touch and not comfortable to hold. Getting the Tap-10 functions to be able to turn the light down in brightness is not very reliable. I called tech support and was told by Streamlight, that this light was designed ONLY for tactical uses (to clear a room, etc) and then to be shut off. They even admitted that the light does get too hot to use after 5 minutes of use and it was and I quote "The HL 3 was designed for tactical uses only, not under any other circumstances." I tried it one more time, outside in 50 degree weather, and same results, after 4 minutes, my hand became uncomfortable.

I'll stay with the FENIX lights going forward, even their tactical lights do not overheat with extended use, much better heat-fin design than the Pro Tac HL3.

It does not work. I thought how hard can it be put the batteries in and turn it on. The first battery, out of three, will not come out. Called and they will replace it but back ordered for 3 weeks. They also said I had to push and hold or punch the on button 2 or 3 times. Nothing worked. Really wished it had worked but the jury is still out until the second one arrives. I also seems like the package had been opened before. Someone probably returned it.

After 38 years in Law Enforcement The Streamlight Pro Tac HL 3 Professional Tactical Light is the best small hand held light I have ever come a across. Now that I retired I use this light in my car and around the house. It comes in handy when needed for looking around the house inside and out. Well worth the money. I have 3 and one smaller one my wife keeps in here purse.Wish I had one years ago.

The light is a supplement to existing lights, or was. It is now my primary. It replaced my Streamlight Stinger and Surefire at the top of the list.

It is shorter than the Stinger and longer than the Surefire. Weight in comparable with the Stinger. Brightness is a huge improvement over the older lights. The three options (high, strobe, low) make it a must have for work, recreation and home use.

Keep this light in my truck or on my gear! I go out into the dark it goes with me in a bag or in my hand. Is a perfect size to hold in your hand. Bell is a little to big to ride comfortably in a pocket but does go in and stay put if needed. I own lots of streamlight products and they have always taken care of me. Hunting, camping, multi day hikes. Especially when it matters most to me. On duty.

Outstanding illumination and construction. A little large for pocket catty but not impossible. Better instructions on how to remove the clip would be helpful.

I have a TakLite, and wanted a second light to remain in my vehicle. I wanted to try the Streamlight. It's a well-built product, easy to use, and the amount of light it puts out is excellent. I think it will be an excellent tool.
