Stay warm and comfortable with the versatile Propper Gen III Fleece Jacket. Whether you're wearing it on its own or with another Propper parka, this jacket retains body heat without hindering your performance. The Polartec Thermal Pro fabric captures heat close to the body and is 30 times more durable than ordinary fleece, making for a rugged jacket that does not disappoint when conditions grow rough. Sewn according to military specification GL/PD-06-03, this jacket has nylon reinforcements at the collar, elbows and shoulder for long-lasting durability. Dual handwarmer pockets and internal chest pockets provide secure and convenient storage space for small accessories. With stretch-grid fleece side panels and Raglan sleeves for enhanced mobility, this jacket is great for active duty wear.

This item as part of the ECWCS system is cut large to allow layering underneath. I wear a medium in most shirts and jackets and found this item in size medium to be very loose with just a shirt underneath. After trying the medium/regular, I settled on a small/long that fits perfectly. With the small/long, the fit still is not tight so it doesn't restrict movement and isn't so baggy that fit is awkard under a softshell. The long puts the sleeves at just the right length and the back is long enough to cover pants when bending or moving.

The fleece is a kind of shaggy, thin material (the outside is nicer finished than the inside, both are comfortable to the touch). The idea is air pockets between the shag will retain heat and act as an insulating layer. The downside is that the jacket while somewhat warm on it's own is not wind resistant at all. There are reinforced areas running from the elbow to wrist and from shoulder to shoulder.

Price seems a little high for the moderate level of warmth and low utility of this item. You're going to need another layer (I matched it with an Under Armour softshell) for wind or rain which puts the combo at $180. My TAD ranger hoodie is MUCH warmer and works against wind (polartech windpro fabric) and rain (fleece is naturally hydrophobic and the TAD tight polartech weave plus DWR coating acts like almost like a slicker), but this item is great for a mildly cool, dry day and much more casual (in coyote/tan) than the Ranger.

The fleece jacket from Propper is made to military standards and runs true to size. Stitching is nicely done and the placement of the hook attachment areas are right where they need to be. Should last a long time.

The fit was perfect. I ordered the same size that I wear in my OCP top and it fit perfectly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I haven't had it very long and I can't say how durable it is.

Overall I’d say it’s a good purchase. The bottom is as wide as the top is, a little too wide for me but it gets the job done. Color is good. Shipped quicker than I thought it would.

Designed as a liner although I sometimes wear as a jacket. Bottom of liner could use a cinch chord around the garment to close off the lower liner opening, very loose and subject to wind and cold air entry. Material is warm as a liner but average insulation and little wind break in mild weather as a jacket.

The jacket is just as it looks as described and is a must have. You can see that it is made just a little longer than the ACU model which is great.

I'm 4'10" and despite the "short" option, it still has really long sleeves and a long torso. It's super comfy and warm though so I only knock it down a half star since not everyone can cater to such shorties.

Color, fit, and comfortability are good. The Velcro spot for rank and name are slightly tilted downwards when it's put on, which sometimes happens but this is very noticable.

The jacket was greatly oversized. I ordered an XL and though the jacket was labeled XL fit a friend who is a 2XL. May friend was gifted the jacket!
