Have had Wolverine brand boots before and believe they are a quality company. I read a couple reviews on these boots about the tongue being way too short and thought these people were being overly picky. They are not. Tried them on when I received them and noticed the tongue barely comes up to the top of the boot near ankle. I tied the boot and the tongue is to short to keep the tied laces from resting against your ankle, no good. I walked a couple steps and immediatly felt laces and top of tongue rubbing uncomfortably on my ankle. Sending them back. Too bad as I really like the look.

Definitely runs on the bigger side, but that's ok because I use an insert for additional comfort. The other reviews that say the tongue isn't bid enough are correct - when tied tight, laces run up over the tongue. Multiple stitches to hold tongue in place have done the trick. Overall, great boot at a good price

I owned a pair of these boots i bought from a local big box store. After about 4-5 years they have finally gave out... Workboots.com has the best price on replacements.
I used these boots as my fall/spring hunting boots, cub scout camping/hiking boots and get to the city on snowy slushy days boots. They saw walking through swamps, and humping long trails to get to my hunting spots, walking through deep puddles of slush in the city while others walked around them and always were water proof and comfortable. laces went on me, just replaced them and the boots kept on going. I think i could have gotten more use out of these if i would have taken better care of them. Stitching finally failed, again i think this is my fault... (left them muddy a lot for long periods of time) This is why i think they are great boots. i didn't have to baby them and they kept going.

In spite of the reviews complaining about the shoe laces riding over the tongue, I thought the price was just too good to pass up. I bought these for farm and hard outdoor use. I put the tick repellent to them and they're in use. I've had no issues with the laces. My personal only gripe is the upper most shoelace keepers seem to bend easy. Nothing pliers don't fix but we'll see how long this arrangement lasts. Good luck with your decision but for the price, I thought these were a quality deal.

Typical Wolverine - Great fit, Great Boot Construction, Comfort untouchable. I swear by Wolverines.
The majority of the reviews are excellent with just one standing out against the boot not giving it 5 stars and he is correct.
It's the one flaw as one of the other reviewers has written, the tongue of the boot is not long enough and does not get past the rim of the boot. Therefore allowing the shoe lace to climb above the boot and really not a secure fastening. At least in my case.

They are defective. The tongue is too short, My husband has wore this boot for 10 years but have always bout them at JC Penneys. Never had a problem before. I am requesting my money and shipping back or that they be replaced with another pair that is not defects.

I have had boots similar as these . in the past. quite comfortable . I purchase these because of the name and past experience .. all day wear and at the end of the day your ready to go again . comfort and support .. excellent .. I hope I get good wear from these . Look to last forever . I know the last I wore the soles off and sides split but they were still comfortable I would recommend these boots . I was a Transportation Construction Inspector . Always On Your Feet and Walking Chasing Pavers or rollers or ditch diggers or measuring .. They were very supportive ... I got the 12 wide width and fit perfectly ..

This is my 3rd pair. I used one for work around my property and the other 2 for hiking. After 7+ years of hiking in them, year round on 4-7 hr hikes in the Berkshires, New Hampshire and the White Mountains, it was time for a new pair. They are extremely durable, very comfortable, and contrary to some of the reviews that I've read, they are 100% waterproof with exposure to snow, immersion in streams etc. This is a quality hiking boot at a fair price and dealing with this company was seamless.

I just bought a new pair of these to replace my old ones which I walked more than 450 miles in before they finally wore through the soles and the stitching started letting in a little bit of water. Even the original laces went almost the whole distance! And nearly all of this was on pavement in the city. The insoles still had plenty of spring left, and I was sorry to retire them. I bought a different brand at first and immediately injured my knee, so it's back to what works best!

They're Wolverines. My last pair I bought are, well, still in service. They're rough, don't get me wrong. I had a seam split after 4 years of hard use, but they're still my go-to boots in the yard, rain days (ride motorcycles at least 5 days a week), and vehicle service day. What do I think? I think I'll buy another pair just to have on hand after I retire.
