The Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System, or Gen-III ECWCS is a protective cold weather clothing system created originally by the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. This system consisted of a parka and trousers plus 20 other individual clothing, face masks, and footwear items which are used in various combinations to meet the cold weather environmental requirements of the US military. Tru-Spec’s baselayer level garments are based off these designs to give Tru-Spec garments the same quality and utility as the base layers of this system. The Level-1 garments draw moisture away from the skin to the outer layers of clothing providing great warmth without weight, is quick drying and compresses to reduce volume when packed.

I wear a large size ACH and this product barely fits over my head. Once on it is too uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time because it’s too tight. In order for it to cover my face appropriately, it leaves everything just below my chin exposed, defeating the purpose of using it to defeat the elements. Complete waste of money, I will never use this product.

I haven't texted this product in the cold yet, but I tried it on, and it fits well. I was really looking for one of these for protection from the heat, it gets very hot out here where i live, so sometimes it is 110 degrees in the summer.

It rides a bit higher than I’d like that being said I have a bit larger neck and with a tall collared shirt or jacket it’s awesome!

Love the material however they are small. I wear a L/XL
hat size and these things are super tight.

The item is good quality, but I have a pretty average head and this thing didn’t fit at all.
