The boot is fantastic. Super comfortable and absorbs shock nicely, even when running at a full sprint.

The extra fold of material inside the zipper (used to keep the boot together when the side zipper is open) has a tendency to either get wedged between my ankle and the side wall of the boot or between my achilles tendon and the back wall of the boot. In either case, it creates a bit of a pressure point (minor discomfort) and could lead to nasty blisters if left unchecked.

I opted for the side zipper because I thought it would make the boots easier to put on/take off. I'm finding now that I spend just about as much time putting them on as my old regular boots because I take a few extra moments to orient the additional material inside the zipper so that it sits in the natural depression between my ankle bone and achilles tendon.

If you're interested in this boot, I would 100% recommend buying the variation without the side zipper.

I bought these boots over a year ago when I started a new position at a job. I was doing appliance delivery. When I first got them they felt super comfortable and looked good. I loved the side zip feature which is one of the reasons I got them. They had a good balance of weight and my feet didn’t get to hot during the summer either. The first pair started getting scuffed so I bought some boot care products and tried my best to keep them looking good. After awhile they developed a squeak when I walked and I couldn’t figure out why. I tried changing the insole and putting that foot powder to see if it was moisture but it would squeak no matter what. I messaged customer service and they were awesome helping get a replacement pair. The second pair are about seven months in and are falling apart where the mesh cloth is stitched to the leather. And these boots squeak but only when I step in a puddle. Even after using the leather conditioner and wax it still didn’t hold up its good look. I don’t even want to wear them to work anymore because they look so bad.

First time owning any thorogood boot and I have only worn them for 2 days,(reason for 4 out of 5) but so far so good. I would say the boot is a little more narrow then what I am used to in a size 10. I have never needed a wide in any boot, but I may have preferred it with these. (May also need to just really brake them in). Nun the less, they have still been really comfortable. I bought them for two main reasons. The side zip and the composite toe. Zipper works as intended for fast removal. And while I havent dropped anything on my foot yet, the toe seems to be well constructed.

What caught my eye about these boots is that Thorogood has been in business since 1892!!! My son will be attending Cal State Maritime Academy in the fall, and calling to the school, we found out that he has to keep pant legs tucked in at all times for safety reasons, working aboard a ship, and boots need to be waterproof, steel toe or composite toe, slip resistant, electrical shock/hazard resistant, 100% non-metallic, and side zip is very helpful--these boots have all of those features. My son says that they are comfortable right out of the box, and we will see if they last all four years--hope so. After doing exhaustive research on all of the different brands of safety-toe boots, these seemed to be the best-made, feature-packed boots for a very reasonable price. Thank you for making these available--didn't see this brand on any of the other web sites.

I recommend the quality brand name, Thorogood (since 1892). I had been researching the web and could not make up my mind. Until I came across the sale when I most needed to make my purchase. I ordered a 5.5 in a man's size equivalent to 7.5 woman's size. I found the comfort and support that I was looking for in a work boot. Working 8 hour shifts at an airport.

I needed a waterproof boot that was easy to get on and off as I may change shoes several times a day. I couldn't ever find exactly what I needed in ladies' shoes but found this one in the men's and just ordered a smaller size (5 instead of 7). They were put to the test immediately as I had to stand in water while trying to find a water leak. They are light weight enough to be worn comfortably for long periods of time but also are easy to get on and off using the zipper and Velcro instead of having to tie/untie every time. I am extremely pleased with this purchase!

They are very comfortable and look really nice. First putting them on they were the most comfortable boot I’ve owned but even being comfortable I still had to break them in. It only took a few days so not that bad. The only thing that bothers me is how the boot creates a bump at the bottom of the laces and I don’t know why it does that. Other than that I really like these boots. My feet don’t hurt at the end of a shift like my other boots would make them. The side zip works great with no problem taking them on or off. I'm very happy with these boots.

He had purchased thorogood boots before but he is very pleased with these. He said his back, legs and feet felt a lot better after the first day of wear. He also like the composite toes. This site was real easy to order from and they shipped real quick! I have reccomended your company to my working sons also. Thank you!

I bought a different brand and had to return them because they ran small. The Thorogoods fit great. They felt a little snug at first but after wearing them for a day or two they fit perfectly. They have proven to be very durable, as I am tough on my boots at work. Because of a promotion I don't wear them for work anymore. But I can't wait to get them on my feet when I'm off because they are so comfortable. They feel like they're giving my feet a soothing hug! The Zipper makes them easy to get on and off. I have had worn them in ankle deep water and they kept my feet dry.
I am thoroughly enjoying these boots.

I am IMPRESSED.
The fit was damn near perfect. Very comfortable.
I work in construction and am on my feet 12-14 hrs a day and these boots are some of the best i have ever owned. The order was right the first time and the boots were just as described. I will definately shop here again.
