The Belleville 690 holds the distinction of being the first sage green boot to be approved for flight by the U.S. Air Force. Using Vanguard sole construction, these boots combine a rubber Vibram Sierra outsole with a cushioned polyurethane midsole for maximum grip and a comfortable platform for your feet. The upper is made with full-grain cowhide leather and nylon fabric to ensure durability, while a GORE-TEX fabric waterproofs the boots. Made with the same specifications and features as the previously approved black flight boots, the sage version is Berry compliant and constructed to meet the demands of Air Force use.

I was issued a pair of these in the USAF, loved them so much that I wore out my first pair (after getting out, I might add) and have been searching for a replacement ever since, I already know my size in this exact boot so I can't attest to the sizing issues reported, but I can tell you a couple important things:

If you get sand in them, it will never, ever, EVER leave. However, it will sink into crevices that you wont ever feel with a nice pair of insoles.

Also, they are indeed pretty heavy, but that weight serves a purpose; durability is through the roof. These things are easily the most robust boots I have owned. the first pair only got replaced because a sharp edge of steel sliced out the leather along the side of the steel toe, but prior to this they withstood intense chemicals, gripped all manner of slick surfaces, insulated against temperatures down to -14 for up to 8 hours at a time, resisted some serious puncture threats to the outer sole, they even withstood a fair amount of exposure to flames.

They do have two major issues, however. Of course the weight is an issue, but they don't feel clunky or bulky, as some boots do. They may tire you if you have weaker calf muscles, though. The other issue is that they don't breath well. If you wear these, do NOT cheap out socks, your feet will be soaked by the end of they day (can be avoided with a good pair of moisture-wicking socks, or wool)

Belleville's sizing is all over the map but I finally got a pair that worked for me.
These are heavy boots but are starting to break in. Time will tell if they hold up but they appear to be well made.
I don't care for the tread design of the sole but you're pretty much stuck with that pattern on most boots. I prefer the older more open tread pattern used on Jungle Boots and the older Altma boots because it would release mud a lot better.

Great boot for the money. Fit is perfect, I have narrow feet and there are only a few Co. that make narrow width boot. I am a B width and Belleville’s Narrow width is a perfect B width. They do run exactly on size larger than other boot manufacturers. Such as Redwing or Wolverine. This Gortex lined pair are a little warm for Ca. Summers but perfect for Ca. Winters. I wear the 600 hot weather Belleville’s in the summer for cool support.

These appear to be excellent boots but the sizing is all over the map.
I ordered a pair of 693 boots in 12 W , my normal boot size and I couldn't even get my foot in the boot. They looked like size 10 boots.
I returned those and ordered a pair of 690's in 13 XW and they were too large.

I wear a size 13W or 13 XW in most brands but some boots run large so I normally start with 12W. The Belleview sizing is not true and has proven to be frustrating.
This site has been very good to deal with but Belleview needs better sizing and quality control.

I have long, wide, feet with bunions. I need at least a 13 EEEE. Few such military type boots exist. Bellevilles fit and are comfortable.

I have a number of different boots. These are by far the best. As always. Thought I was going to get a Gift Card, but didn't. But that's not why I bought these boots. The boots are perfect.
