A classic tactical response uniform appearance combined with modern functionality, the TRU-SPEC Nylon/Cotton Ripstop TRU Coat can handle all the rigors of tactical operations and field work and is durable enough for any situation. Based on the traditional U.S. Army ACU design, this coat features a zippered front placket with a hook and loop closure flap, a mandarin-style collar with a YKK Powerhook closure and a bi-swing back for maximum maneuverability. There are two spacious chest pockets with plenty of space for gear storage and additional shoulder pockets as well. The elbows are reinforced and feature pockets with a hook and loop closure for elbow pad inserts.

I really love this coat. I'm a civilian, so I can only critique fit versus tactical usage. I'm 6", 195 lbs. - I prefer the L/L if wearing over a t-shirt (it's the same as a 34/35" shirt sleeve length); if wearing over anything thicker (e.g., a combat shirt, or something of equivalent thickness, such as a coat), I prefer an X-Long/Long (which is the equivalent of a 36/37" shirt-sleve length). TRU-SPEC tends to run a bit larger/longer than other labels. I wish this coat came with a conventional collar (vs. tactical), if only for the "breathability" aspect. Nevertheless, a 5-star product.

I thoughT I bought an ATAC-AU coat color like the BDU ATAC AU pants I got. I guess i didnt, there is a decent amount of green in it instead of dark brown. What is interesting is, it doesnt match the ATAC-FG. So i guess at a distance, it be hard to tell, but a zooming scope will tell you the difference lol. Enough about the color, it's pretty comfortable as long as you set the straps to your liking.

I've had this jacket for about three years now, I use it for a lot of things, when I work on cars, when I'm working in the yard, when I'm training, and when I play airsoft games, Very strong in the stitching, as a bigger guy (6 foot 350 pounds and well built) I rip threw a lot of my clothing, Haven't had a sing rip yet. Sadly, these do NOT match Milspec! My BDU pants in woodland are a bit more "red" than this and it dose show, If your looking for a jacket that is strong as all heck, will last a long time, breaths well in the summer and is warm in the winter.. GET THIS JACKET!

Bought this TRU coat in multicam Tropic and Arid. Already had it in the original pattern. The quality is excellent, and blends perfectly as location specific variants of the original pattern.

While I personally prefer the button closures of the newer uniforms, as well as the Old-School BDU, the TRU is an outstanding uniform that holds up well and provides good lifetime wear.
