When I first got these the fabric felt less softer and canvas like, also the Teflon coating was quite more noticeable. Being new to polycotton ripstop pants then, they felt like they were thin, and would tear easily. Eventually I found out they were just as tough or tougher than wrangler heavy weight jeans. Through class rooms, miles and miles of hiking, running, walking the wear of the fabric was nonexistent. After about a month of wearing, the fabric felt softer, but retained the same durability and characteristics. Eventually after about 3 months the Teflon coating went away (just as expected). The nylon belt that came along with it began to fray slightly after 4-6 months, but that can easily be fixed by slightly burning the ends. The fabric won't wrinkle unless the wearer been absolutely negligent, and leaves it under a pile of clothes, weight, or anything. I've experienced no torn stitching or defective hardware (buttons, zippers, d-ring, etc.) even to this day. The only wear I've experienced is fabric thinning around the crotch, but that's from me walking, running, and hiking a few hundred miles within the year and a half. After the break in period they'll feel just a soft as a new pair of 5.11 taclite pros. Overall the pockets are nice they aren't too big, and aren't to small for everyday wear. The two slash pockets (the ones for your hands or whatever) survived plenty of pens, pocket knives, things with clips and still look new/performed as always. There's no pockets tearing, no worn Velcro, no torn belt loop, everything's fine except for the crotch area beginning to tear. The overall geometry of the pants is pretty basic, no gusseted crotch, flexpoints or, anything fancy but for the rear pockets, and knees (capable of taking inserts/pads) acting as two layers. As for the wearing conditions (for me) they've felt comfortable from the mid 60's to the the high 90's, in all sorts of activities. They stand up well to rubbing against granite boulders up in the mountains(hasn't torn, light abrasions will go away), can shed marker board ink after series of washes, and dry very well. Also, odors of the body don't linger, unless you've been going at for 3 plus days (at least 15 hours a day in 95 degree weather) with no other pants to wear.

I've been using this particular product for the last 4 years working Security, and Logistics. My oldest pairs finally wore out with near constant use at 40+ hours a week. Needless to say they last. Recently we had a dress code change, and I had to change colors, and buy new shirts. I stuck with Propper knowing not only will they last, but they're made to work. The fact these come with a belt eliminates the need to buy one. My phone is too wide to fit in the phone pocket on the left leg, but if you run a Blackberry, an iPhone 5 with an otter box, or something smaller, you should be able to use it. If not able, just stick your smaller items in it and you'll be fine. The cargo pockets stay flush with the legs when empty, so you don't catch on anything. The rear pockets are two in one. I keep a hazmat bag in the deep section on the right side and my wallet in the main section for ease of access. My logistics papers go in the deep section of the left so not to stick out. Cargo pockets carry my gloves, hats, and whatever else I may need to put in them. After 4 years of use and abuse, I can tell you about this product inside and out. There are hidden pockets for small items or important items on the inside of the knees, which comes in handy if you need it. Very good quality, useful layout, and you have color options. I have Sheriffs Brown(Dark Brown), Coyote Brown(Dark Tan), and Black. I wore out the Khaki and first set of Coyote Brown which were purchased in 2010, buy working outside, brushing up against doorways, railings, walls, and brushing up against items heavier than I am. If these can survive that, they can survive anything. Well worth the price and made to last.

I bought two pair of these in different colors. I already have one pair that I've worn for several years with no apparent signs of wear.

I read a review that dinged these pants for random variations in construction but I figured I could live with slightly different shaped pockets, or whatever. First of all, the pocket that allegedly will hold a smartphone won't hold an iPhone 6 in a case. That is true of all three pairs of these pants that I have. Not a deal killer.

The rear pockets that would be expected to hold your wallet (up high rather than behind your knee) are so small on the gray pair of these that my wallet won't fit into them. That is only true of one pair out of three. So, let me reiterate the warning that I ignored, There is not much quality control in the design and fabrication of these. The quality is in the materials and stitching. They definitely stay together.

The good things about these are that they are tough and nails and, based on the pair I already have, will last for years.

I purchased these pants to wear during my recreational time after seeing some of my co-workers with them. The pants are very well made and are extremely comfortable. The pants I ordered came with the unhemmed inseam due to the waist size and I had them tailored and I am very pleased. The elastic waist band makes them very comfortable and the fact that they come with a belt saved me another 15-40 dollars depending on the belts I would have had to choose from. I haven't had them that long so durabilty is unknown but they feel light weight and breathable. This may make you think they would be too cool for winter wear but to me that means if it's that cold I can wear long johns and not burn up as the day warms up. As long as they last I will definitely be ordering more. The price was fantastic considering if I would have ordered these from a Big and Tall store to get my size I would probably would have spent three times as much and not gotten close to the quality.

Great service and ease of ordering. These are really great pants. Not super tactical but more then basic cargo pants. Made of ripstop type material, very light weight. soften up a good bit after two or more washings so no chaffing to worry about. make sure to order one size up in the waist. it seems like after they sew in the stretchy material on the waist it goes down one size. so order up for a comfortable fit. I had to send back and get the next size up. Fast turn around though. And they come kind of long so order one size short unless you like a bit of slack on the bottom. Back pockets seem to be sewn in kind of tight, meaning to put your hand in is not very quick, you have to slide in your flat hand to get into them so if you have something in your hand to put into the back pockets it takes a second or two longer. I work overseas in Iraq and these pants are just what I need. Seem very durable too. Would order again, very comfortable.

Truly awesome is enough said on this product, but I will explain why. My boss first recommended propper to me when I was looking for new work pants. She is a member o the springfield, illinois civil air patrol. She brought a sample in to show me and I was sold. The configuration o the pockets and the small details (like the caribiner keyring d-ring) are great. Although I'm not a big fan of Velcro, propper uses a high quality one. And as advised I wash them inside out which keeps the Velcro in perfect condition thus far(about 2 1/2 months so far). The ripstop material of the pant works phenomonaly, as I've accidentally tested it already. They are comfortable, lightweight, and water resistant to a certain extent. The rear pockets are a pocket within a pocket. A little weird at first,for the average consumer, but really functional when you get used to it. Almost most impressive is the nylon belt that each pant comes with. The belts are crazy sturdy and stay where u adjust them without give. Definitely worth every penny.

These pants are nice and light weight. They fit well and the waistband is very comfortable. The fit is true to size. They have a lot of pockets, but they just are not ideal. The rear pockets are your typical fare, but the wallet pockets inside of the rear pockets are great. The front cargo pocket will hold a PMAG, but won't fit over a cased iPhone X. The side cargo pockets are okay, but want hold the same phone upright, so you have to lay it over and let to flop around. The small inner front pocket is too shallow to hold anything and if you have a pocket knife or a small carry light, it will work out as soon as you sit.
My use for these will be warm range days in the summer and the occasional everyday wear. My goto pants remain the Vertx Phantom Ops because their pocket design is unparalleled.

These pants are well-made in terms of design, workmanship, and material.

At 5' !!" 195 lbs, 36X34 fit well. They are straight leg with plenty of room, yet not baggy. The pockets are adequate but not bulky. The inner wallet pocket is quite useful. Items stay put and do not bulge at the bottom of the pocket. The pants seem form-fitting while hanging loose enough to be comfortable.

There is a lot of design in these pants and they require quality workmanship to bring it together. And they have it. The waistband, front closure, pockets, and seams are well-sewn.

The ripstop fabric is sturdy, but lightweight. The knee and back pocket reinforcements add structure to the pants while the body of the pants stay lightweight and breathe.

I bought two additional pair after trying them out.

Great pants,fit is perfect,plenty of room,comfortable.Snap closure is weak,I have plenty of room,but they won't stay closed.I'm having a button put on them.Other than that there great. I ordered 2 pairs of almost the same pants with button closure,and there great and stay closed.The snaps are too small for the pants,and other than that,I give them 10 out of 10.I will continue to buy items,but NO SNAPS on any pants.Please if you all put snap closure,make them that's strong enough not to stay come open all the time,mine are loose,and won't stay snapped,and first time I wore them was to church,so it's a extra cost to fix them right, other than the snap closure,great pants, and I'll continue to buy from this company,and tell others to also.
