First, the good:

- Comfort. These boots required zero break in time. I bought them on a monday and did an 8 mile ruck that friday. no blisters.
- Weight. These are almost as light as the pair of Garmont NFS I went through this past winter.
- Support. This is where this boot really shined for me. in spite of being a sneaker boot, competitive with the NFS et al. in terms of weight and cushioning, they felt much more supportive and stable underfoot than the NFS did, almost like a real field boot would.

The bad:

- Durability. Within 2 weeks of light field duty the hardware had ripped out of one of the the drain ports on the right boot, and a week later I was missing a drain port on the left as well. after a month of hard(ish) use, I'm starting to wear small holes in the nylon against my ankle bones.
- Color: kind of nitpicky, but the tan is a little light to be really coyote. sure, they're technically 670-1 compliant, but looking at them they're really sort of halfway between sand and coyote.
- No wide sizes. These run a bit wide to begin with, and fit my wide feet acceptably in spite of only coming in standard widths, but I would have liked a wide option for a little more room in the toe box. Conversely, I also feel like the standard last on these is wide enough that they may not work at all for people with narrow feet.

Bottom line: Merrell came so close to a truly great lightweight boot, but durability problems mean I don't expect to buy a second pair until they make some updates. I would gladly have taken an extra couple ounces per foot for a bit more durability.

Fit and feel excellent right outta the box. I wear a 9.5, true to size. Enough lace to cinch em tight, also enough room in the toes for them to move without feeling like too much room. They are REALLY light. Treads are excellent. The assist loop needs to be about half the size that it is. I don't know anyone that ties their boots with gloves on. I wish that there was toe protection. I would pay more for that. Not bulky, nothing extra to catch on anything (except an excessively large assist loop). Nice shape and size overall. Not sure how well that they would hold up for field use. Like a previous reviewer, I feel that the vent grommets will probably tear out, if they could either be thinner or beefed up around them, I would feel better about their longevity. Overall, the boot is excellent! I've worn many. I love my Danders but thought I would give these a go for a little less $$. Happy with them so far. I'm in a deployed environment, but not in the field.

I usually wear Rocky boots but wanted to try these with the new uniform change in the Air Force. I went with the same size boot as my Rocky’s and they fit perfect. No need for a breakin period on these either, they fit comfortably and are ready to work. Overall I love these Merrell’s So far, waiting to see how they hold up.

To early to really tell honestly. But I did put them through some hard use in the field for 3 days and they breath really well and feel pretty good on the feet. Make sure to buy some insoles cause the ones they come with are not that great.

Had been looking for a boot that would be comfortable yet supportive due to foot and knee problems. So far so good with this boot. No knee pain or swelling and foot pain has decreased significantly. Love them so far!

I really like these boots. Lightweight and comfortable right out of the box. I admit that they weren't bought for "hardcore" use but for me they are perfect. I haven't had them long enough to know how they'll stand up to wear and tear but so far so good. If they start falling apart in the near future I'll be very disappointed. I don't expect that to happen though. They seem to be well made.

I love the boots. Very light weight, feels like walking on air. I was expecting a bit more ankle support for the cost but over all a great feeling boot.

Very light and comfortable. It is a bit of a pain putting on and off as all the lace hoops add so much friction. But great price and quality boot.
