The McRae Terassault Freedom is built to perform in hot conditions and rugged terrain. These boots are treated with an antimicrobial Agion lining, a compound which slowly releases silver ions to combat the growth of odor-causing bacteria. Unique air vents along the medial side arch distribute hot air away from the interior of the boot, creating a climate controlled environment for your feet in hot weather. The Vibram Multi-Sport rubber outsole is made from an oil-resistant TC4+ compound for unmatched traction and performance on any terrain. Cushioned orthotic insole and lightweight midsole provide cushioning to reduce ankle and knee soreness, creating a durable, comfortable boot that is 32.4% lighter than comparable hot weather spec boots.

20 year Marine retiree and an additional 14 years of Contracting work in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Africa, and a few aircraft carriers. These boots are quite possibly the best boot I have ever worn. Have owned my current pair for one year and am ordering a second set today, only because the company pays for a new pair each year. Comfort right out of the box is comparable to a running shoe, required virtually zero break-in, and I experienced no blisters or rub spots whatsoever. Very lightweight boot. Nimble, not heavy, blocky, or chunky like a lot of "standard issue" trash I've worn over the years. I weigh 225 and am a notoriously heavy heel-striker, but these soles and heel cups have held up abnormally well. Even after a year of daily wear the heels are virtually unmarked and showing very little wear. Heel cups are still very sturdy and supportive. I have absolutely ZERO separation of sole/lower...whatever stitching and/or glue is used in the construction is still hanging tough a year later. NO stitching rips or tears anywhere, no eyelets popping or working loose, they dry quickly when I've gotten them wet, and they do not suck up and hold rocks, stones, sand, or pebbles. The cordura style upper is resilient and flexible while still providing excellent stability and support, does not show marks, and my only "wish" with this boot is that they would come out with a taller version to compete with the Danners. The laces are unusually tough and durable as well. Never had a pair of laces like this until I purchased this boot. They are unconventional, have an alternating thickness to them that prevents slip, they work as advertised, and I've never had them work loose or loosen up, period. Even if the company did not pay for my footwear, I'd hell yes spend my own money to buy these.

I have been wearing US Military boots since 1977 (no kidding--for the last 42 years). As a USAF pilot and career officer, I lived in my issued flying boots and in-garrison footwear for nearly 30 years supplied from every major US boot manufacturer for our military. I have personally spent over $300 a pair for boots that were not even close to the quality and comfort of these McRae Terassult Freedom boots. These McRae boots are designed to wear daily and for extended lengths of time (I routinely have my boots on for 16+ hours daily--7 days a week and these boots feel like sneakers--amazing). These boots are SO GOOD that I am ordering two more pair immediately while my size is still in stock. Folks if you need a really good hot-weather boot with traction, comfort and support all in one system--BUY THESE BOOTS. Please note: these boots are NOT waterproof (aduh)--go figure... side drain ports!

These are great boots. I’ve had Danner tachyons, original swats and Oakley’s. These have the comfort and flexibility of the Oakley’s. They are about the same weight as well. My go to boot for long rucks has been the Danner s. But this is my new go to. It has a little cushion around the heel and toe box where the danners don’t and sometimes rub when they get super sweaty. The toe box on these is a little wider than the Oakley’s. The big vent on the side actually works compared to the usual small holes on most boots.

Wow, I am very impressed with these boots! Very comfortable the first time in. The ankle support is just beyond wow! And the weight is very light compared to the other McRae boots I have. The Coyote and Desert Tan versions of this will certainly be on my list to complete. Thanks!

I've been wearing these for two weeks now and other than being a little stiff, they are quite comfortable. The big test will be in a couple of months; BOG. I'll let you know more then.

I got a pair of these originally when Air Force ROTC and had them for 3 years and put lots of miles on them. I used them for 4 backpacking trips and day hikes almost every other weekend. I used them as work boots around the house or as daily boots in winter. Absolutely love these boots and highly recommend them. The only downside to them is that they don't have much arch support and I already have bad arches so I had to put inserts in them. Other than that I absolutely recommend these boots.

I have hiked and hunted all my life and owned many boots, but this pair was comfortable right out of the box. I highly recommend buying these boots.

Made very well with breathable vents to allow ventilation for my feet. Appreciate the solid support. Great all around uniform boot.

I ordered these boots in a men’s 5 which I was very happy to find—a lot of other brands don’t go that low. The quality of these boots are also great, I’m still in the break in period (somewhat stiff) but can tell they’ll serve me well when I’m on my feet for several hours every day.
