A waterproof GORE-TEX membrane keeps out moisture, while 600 grams of Thinsulate Ultra insulation maintains a warm, comfortable environment for your feet. The Bulls-Eye Air Bob aggressive sole provides outstanding grip and traction on any terrain, ensuring that you'll be able to focus on your target no matter where the hunt takes you. These boots have a very stiff sole. These are the first boots I have owned with such a stiff sole. I have been hunting in NW Pennsylvania for many years. These boots are great if you stick to the roads or level fields/woodlands. But the extremely stiff soles make it very difficult to climb hills. My feet ache badly in the evening after climbing a hill wearing these boots. When you climb a hill your feet have to flex some, and so your boots have to flex some too. The soles on these boots will not flex. It is like having boards glued to the bottom of your feet. Good quality walking shoes have a very stiff sole. The Elk Trackers are good walking boots. They are not good overall hunting boots, based on my experience. They are warm, though.

I am getting ready to order my 5th pair of these boots. I have been wearing them almost every day for work as well as hunting for the last 7 years. From other reviewers it sounds as if the boots have not been quite broken in. Also consider that not everyone can wear every boot because of foot shape and boot sizing. I have punished these boots in construction and hunting and they have been great. These boots are 5-star for quality, but like all footwear you have to try them on. I live/work in western Colorado where the terrain is tough. If I lived in the eastern U.S. I might consider a lighter boot, but out West these boots do a good job.

Excellent boot. It is almost impossible finding narrow sizes, most boots come in only standard C or D widths. The Irish Setter is the only brand I found that comes in different widths. and the boot fits like a glove. Workmanship is superb, I looked at several more expensive brands, but this boot is an outstanding value.

The boot looks good but it is made in China. The laces are so short that without heavy socks, they can hardly be tied. The tops are not all leather, around the tongue, it is fabric.
