Whether working a beat or going on a hike, the Bates GX-4 GTX boots will keep your feet safe, dry and comfortable, on duty or off. With a leather and ballistic nylon upper, they are durable enough to withstand constant wear, but lightweight enough for running and strenuous action. The athletic cement construction includes a slip-resistant rubber outsole that handles rough, uneven terrain and a GORE-TEX lining for maximum water resistance. The lining promotes breathability and ventilation when in motion or at rest. There is also a removable insole with added cushioning for support, as well as a padded collar to keep you comfortable.

I bought Timberland for winter for $180 my feet freezes then someone recommends me to try something from Tacticalgear.com. This is my first shoe to buy online. I paid about $100. I like the shoe and will never buy Timberland. The price is way too cheap with better quality and support. I shovel with this shoe and it does not get wet but my feet freezes. where as Timberland my feet gets wet and freezes. As long as you do not use this shoe to shovel you can use it for winter.
I am happy.

I work in a prison and we are required to have all black shoes. Ideally I prefer tennis shoes but was having a hard time finding a pair with good support. I also have plantar fasciitis and my feet just ache regularly. After the first night of wearing these boots my feet felt a world of a difference. I will admit that they are a bit stiff towards the top but the overall comfort makes up for that slight stiffness discomfort. If you need a good boot that gives good support and is comfortable for an 8.5 hour shift or even a 17 hour shift, these are the ones I would suggest. Also I am a woman who normally wears a size 11 and was forced to buy a men's shoe size 10 -- fit perfectly. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy them!

I work on my feet all day long as a UPS driver and I must say in my 20 years with the company I finally found my boot of choice in the Bates Gore-Tex boot. I deal with all the different elements outside all year round and this boot provides me with all the features one could want in a great work boot. The bates provides great and sturdy support, weather protection, comfort and great looks. The only concern I have is that it would be great if the boot came in half sizes all the way to it's biggest size.

This is the second time in 5 years I have chosen the same Bates work boot. I wear these boots for 10 to 14 hours a shift doing a Paramedic and EMS Supervisor job in Pennsylvania. I am very impressed at how this boot can remain comfortable and offer great support and flexibility throughout the long shift. Other brands were either too stiff or caused blisters on my feet. Awesome shoe for emergency services usage.

They are not bulky work looking boots, I wear these to church and everywhere in the winter. The leather is good quality andshines up great. I live in snow country and with Gators I've been in snow up to my knees this winter for hours and they are warm and perfectly dry. I usually wear a 10.5 D; I ordered the medium and it was very narrow. The wide in this boot was way better and very comfortable for me.

This is my second pair of Bates GX 4s. My first pair lasted 5 years and even though they still look good, the soles were wearing thin. These boots lasted a very long time compared to other brands have I have purchased in the past. They are extremely comfortsble.

Just received these boots and they are extremely comfortable straight out of the box. They have a sleek look and I like the gore tex lining. I did alot of research on these prior to ordering and the main complaint was they ran a little narrow, so I got the extra wide and they fit just right. The only thing I would recommend is to get some longer laces cause these are short.

I've been searching for a boot like this forever! Light, dry, and made well, although longevity is still to be determined. In fact I have just ordered the 8" insulated side zip version as it's getting colder here. I have a high instep and wide feet, so they are a little hard to put on and are a little narrow for an xw, (this I know has a lot to do with the Gortex membrane.

Hopefully, it will get better, but there is a lump where the tongue is sewed to inside of the upper that is very uncomfortable. Otherwise they are good so far.

Love these boots as an all year boot. I deal with a lot of slippery conditions as a tow operator and these boots stand up to the task, as well as, keeping me upright. Only complaint would be longevity of the soles. Im tearing mine apart and Ive owned them less than a year and no one in my area resoles glued soles.
