I have had other Bates boots in the past that held up for years, not these. I thought I bought a "lemon" but after reading other reviews it seems apparent there is a quality issue for the stitching where the leather meets the mesh, the outside seems for both boots have split open for me and I have had two of the lace grommets come out. Very disappointing, as these were very comfortable and lightweight. I am in law enforcement and have only worn this pair maybe 70 times in the year since purchase; use on the range and during warrant operations as well as deployment for hurricane relief efforts. These boots have never been wet not even rained on (I used a pair of my USMC 1990 issued jungle boots for boat ops in Beaumont - those are still going strong). The Cobra just lost its bite pretty quick and under very light use.

Okay so at first these boots where awesome fit, comfort, and very lightweight! I bought these around january or February, lasted me till around august! I used these boots to walk on base, motorpool, house etc.. good till about 5 months in sole started to wear out, keep in mind these soles are thin so if your going to ntc, or any rough rocky terrain for 1 month i suggest bring a second pair, front side of sole was coming off also back off both boots. Also the stitching is poor on the side of the boots that stitch the mesh and leather together, that came off too. I really feel bad making it a negative review since i really liked these boots! they dont last long but are one of the most comfortable boots for base i have ever wore and for that i give it 3 stars!

The new Cobra Hot weather boot kept my feet free of hot spots and blisters as soon as I took them out of the box. I spent the weekend on a road march and conducting small unit operations on hillsides and pretty hard terrain. To add to the test, it rained for 8 hours straight and they didn't actually get wet right away. They were completely dry within a couple hours. With the midsole and insole they are extremely comfortable. I have the new NIKE boot and Bates blew them out of the water. Bates also fits true to size... 6 stars out of 5

These are the only boots I have ever worn that my feet stay cool. I've had them for about a week and couldn't be happier. I would recommend highly. 5 star boot. Size is accurate and are comfortable right out of the box. Buy with confidence! Only caveat is the pic makes it look much lighter than it is. I was happy to see they were darker like the description states.

These boots are very light. Wasn't sure if they were in the box when it arrived. Also, very comfortable right out of the box. True to size on me. No tight or loose spots. The air-foam insole feels great. They seem well-constructed but haven't put them through their paces yet so hope they hold up. They are also a great looking boot.

Put 14 hours on them right out of the box. No pinching no blisters. When ordering do not size up, order regular size you normally wear. Well constructed with double stitching all around. Excellent well built boot. I highly recommend them. Defiantly five stars. 1000x better than the Under Armor FNP I returned.

My grandson wore them in basic training and fell in love with them.
He got exactly what I ordered and it came very timely.
Excellent purchase and will definitely use your site again when another pair are needed.
