Designed with the patented 5.11 Quixip System for rapid, efficient sidearm access, the 5.11 Valiant Duty Jacket is an impressive overall tactical package. Removable, zippered sleeves make it fully adaptable as a jacket or vest and the three-piece hood has a built-in visor and integrated draw cord to protect against rain and wind. Bartacking at all major stress points ensures durability and allows for a wide range of motion during physical activity. Hidden document pockets, removable ID panels, a badge tab and mic loops add to the jacket's tactical appeal. Not only is it customizable for different situations, it is also Back-up Belt System compatible.

Take this as a first impression seeing as it is too warm to actually wear yet, but the jacket seems well constructed. The liner and sleeves zip in and out very easily and the fit is just right. I'm 5'10 and around 220 and the large is spot on for my torso. Sleeves are a bit long, but you can cinch them with the velcro tabs. The hood is not insulated, but most folks will have a watch cap of some sort on, so this is not a big deal. The jacket itself seems to be very well insulated. I hesitate to say that I can't wait for cold weather, but I am anxious to try this out in the elements.

Great jacket. Just waiting to see how it does in the heart of winter. Plenty of pockets and waterproof zippers are awesome. Fits pretty good. Just wish I had a little more neck room for full zip up around my neck. I gotta large and it all fits great except for the neck area.

I'm a 5'3 125lb female and the xs jacket fits for a jacket fitted for men. The forearm area is very wide but with the Velcro you can adjust. The only thing that would be better is a jacket fitted for a woman.
