For the ultimate in ballistic protection, the AR500 Armor Level III plate is one of the most durable defensive options available. This plate is rated up to 7.62x51 NATO M80 Ball ammunition at 2,780 feet per second, ensuring a range of protection across multiple calibers and projectile speeds (including threats covered by type I, II, IIA and IIIA plates). AR500 Armor’s Advanced Shooter’s Cut (ASC) offers plates with both left-handed and right-handed draw options for maximum comfort when shouldering a rifle. In addition to the standard flat option, this plate also comes in a Multi-Curved style. Multi-Curved models help reduce strain across the plate’s surface area upon projectile impact, making for a significantly stronger plate. Choose between the base polyurea coat, or an additional build up polyurea coat for extra protection against fragmentation and spalling. Made in the USA with a twenty year, maintenance-free shelf life, the quality of this plate is second to none.

@AR500 Armor® Level III Plate Torture Test: Heavy Hitters

❌ AR500 Armor : https://alnk.to/74mWjRH Link to plate: https://alnk.to/btfSQfU Level III plate + high power rifle cartridges = fun experiment :) AR500 Armor donated some of their awesome Level III hard plates with PAXCON coating: A big thanks to Mr Howley for bringing out his 300WM, AR15, and his Beautiful M1 Garand to help with the test!: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrJEHowley Level III is designed to stop all non AP rounds up to 2870fps +/-. We used clay as a backer in this test, to see what if any blunt force trauma was transferred from the plate to the wearer. I'm thoroughly impressed with AR500 Armor's product. Not only do it stop everything it's rated to stop, the PAXCON coating contains most all fragments from hits, preventing further injury to the user. Test Results: .223 55gr JSP -stopped 5.56 M193 55gr FMJ - stopped 5.56 M855 62gr FMJ - stopped 5.56 SS190 31gr FMJ @ 3400fps - stopped M80 .308 Ball 147gr FMJ - stopped M2 .30-06 Ball 152gr FMJ - stopped 300WM 180gr JSP, - penetrated .338 RUM 250gr boat tail brass solid - stopped .338 RUM 225gr Accubond - penetrated .30-06 M2 AP - penetrated The .30-06 M2 AP used in this test is original 1950s surplus. I can not speak for other online tests, but my M2 Ball results seem to mimic their "M2 AP" tests in terms of damage left to the plate. Blunt force trauma to the clay did not become apparent until we got into the .308, and was fairly minimal. I would say blunt force trauma with hard plates is not much of a concern as compared to soft armor.

I bought this plate for my wife. She teaches at a community college that constantly giving out warnings for rioters. She's supposed to put in her back pack to keep her safe just in case. This plate is heavy duty and I'm sure it will stop what needs to be stopped.

Heavy, durable, good spall liner. Wont stop 5.56 at close range, but 7.62 can go pound sand. What I wanted.
