Working in extreme conditions requires serious foot protection. With the Rocky 8" Alpha Force 400G, your feet will stay comfortable, warm and protected from cold conditions and hazards. These boots are lined with 400 grams of 3M Thinsulate insulation to deliver much-needed warmth when the temperature drops. The oil- and slip-resistant RigiTrac outsole is made of molded EVA and rubber and provides strong traction on slick surfaces. A side zipper lets you quickly put on and take off these boots, while the shock-absorbing Rocky Air-Port footbed delivers non-stop comfort and support. Made with a full-grain leather and nylon upper, these boots are designed to stand up to the harshest work environments.

I have had these now for two weeks and I really like them. I work as a Security Manager at a Lake Tahoe Ski Resort so I need footwear that is warm and has good traction for traveling over snow and ice. I have happily worn out only two pairs of Rocky Eliminators in the last 15 years but decided to try the Alpha Force model this time. So far I am very pleased. They are very warm and extremely comfortable right out of the box. Only time will tell if they are durable. At half the cost, the warmth and comfort level considered, if they last me two or three years I will be happy.

In 2014, at the age of 53, I fulfilled one of my "always wanted to do" items on the bucket list by hunting alligators in Florida with a guide using a casting rod and snatch hook. This particular day, I wore my NEW Rocky 8" Alpha Force in an environment where it was 94 degrees. Two things I want to say about these during my experience:

1) My feet DID NOT heat up. In fact, my feet stayed very, very comfortable baking in the sun.
2) When I did hook, dig my feet in and fight a few gators they DID NOT pull me in the water...lol

That being said, I give these a 5-Star rating. I do wear them during the winter as well on sloppy and snowy days here in Ohio and I can't speak highly enough about the performance of this product. I have already bought another pair of these because I'm content to wear this brand for the rest of my life.

Being in corrections for 12 years, I have tried about every boot imaginable. These are by far the best boots I've ever had. There is no break in time, lots of cushion on the sole and no rubbing. They are already shined so I didn't have to worry about that. I have had the pair I have for 2 years and they are still in great shape. I'll never buy another boot.

Easy to get on and off. Comfortable and affordable. Only complaint is the laces are too short and already starting to fray. Well need replaced soon but laces are cheap.
