Weighing in at just under 4 pounds, the Leapers UTG 547 Law Enforcement Tactical Vest is measurably more lightweight than other tactical vests on the market. The signature mesh ventilation system is breathable, keeping moisture and heat at bay. A removable utility belt provides extra security and can store a patrol pack or a first aid kit. Nine back loops easily handle a medical kit or a water bladder, distributing weight evenly between the back and chest. hook and loop on the shoulders and front simplify modifications, so you can configure the vest for maximum comfort and ease. There is a pouch for a mic or a radio on the left shoulder. The front utility zipper is heavy-duty and durable, while concealed zippers inside the chest accommodate concealed plates.

I bought this exact vest about ten years ago and was not disappointed at the time. I learned however, that the pistol mag. pouches were far too small for anything but perhaps a .380 sub-compact. I recently bought this vest for my Wife thinking I was going to have to ad extensions to the pistol mag. flaps but was pleasantly surprised to find that over the years they've made the pistol mag. pouches larger. Now I may have to buy myself a new vest. Lol! If you're looking for a tactical vest that will get the job w/o breaking the bank, you can't go wrong with this one.

Overall it's a nice vest. Only things I'm not happy with are the flaps over the pistol and rifle magazine pouches are way too long. They cover the magazines and then go all the way to the bottom of the magazine. No reason to have to mess with a lot of extra material in your way when trying to get a magazine out. Also, there are no places for ID patches. Would be nice to have those already on the best. I have ID patches and now have to have velcro sewn on to hold them. That is not a criticism, just observation.
Fits good and carries a lot of ammo. Happy with my purchase

Expect to remove some of the redundant pouches to replace with your needs. I had to have the straps professionally altered because the vest rides low. The included web belt was useless until I did. I’m a trim 6’ man and had 1.5” removed from each side. That did the trick. I’ll be pulling off one of the 30-end mag pouches and replacing with a cell pouch. I removed the shotgun shell webbing for a subdued American Flag. The holster is flimsy. Best for a light 38 Spl or less or replace with a better holster. I love the two inside zippered pockets for docs and the inner, back camel pocket. The zippers are good quality. This is a great hiking, camping, fishing, tac rig for battling the angry mob but it is not and cannot become a suitable plate carrier. I like it a lot. I’m praying it won’t be too hot!

As a Civilian, now, I still practice and train for Tactical situations. This Vest is perfect in every sense. The number of Magazines it can hold and the fact it has a Holster makes this Vest perfect for the scenario training. When I purchased this Vest, I did not realize, it came with a duty belt. I would recommend this Vest to anyone and it is the Tactical Vest of choice for our Tactical Squad.

I really like the vest! It will accommodate most everything needed in a tactical situation. I'm using this vest for personal use so that I can keep all of my shooting gear in one place. The vest has plenty of pouches (some detachable) to handle several AR15/M4 magazines and handgun magazines and/or speed-loaders. It also has a pouch for a small flashlight and a bigger pouch for a notebook and pen. The vest is adjustable so it will fit most anyone.

Yes, I am more than pleased with the Leapers UTG 547 Law Enforcement Tactical Vest. It was easy to adjust and fit perfectly. It had the holster for my pistol, and plenty of space for my pistol and AK ammunition magazines, as well as pockets for other gear. The woodland digital camo matched my clothing and other gear perfectly. A great product at a good price. I highly recommend it.

This rig has a wide array of carry paraphernalia. Removable gear belt (I got the dropleg holster for it also which is adjustable and works well with my Sig P320 w/undermount light-laser), pistol holster w/associated mag pouches. Shotgun round sleeves, rifle mag pouches, support material pouches (radio, 1st aid, etc). So, for the price you ALOT of stuff on this rig. The back of the rig is all MOLLE loops (great for an IFAK, etc) a large Velcro patch for an ID, and a “drag” loop handle. That’s all the pro’s.
The cons: When designing a rig for military/police, you need to include as much function as possible (which this rig does well). THEN remove every little detail that doesn’t contribute to those functions (to save weight at the very least). This rig has almost too much crap on it, alot of... just extraneous “strappage” and whatnot that often don’t contribute and sometimes get in the way of function of the rig. I appreciate all the pistol-caliber pouches included (the more the merrier) but they can be difficult to access/open when seconds count. Also the rig’s front zipper pull is on the left side (?!). The only time I’ve run into a piece of apparel that has the pull on the left is a female-intended garment. The chest mounted holster, while it fits my Kimber 45cal very well, seems poorly thought out in that the way it mounts to the rig. Half Velcro, half buckled straps. Still it wants to bounce around when running/maneuvering. The rifle mags WILL NOT hold 308/7.62cal magazines. The included pouches are too small. I probably would not have bought the rig had I known this as my primary long gun is a Windham SRC308, but I’ll be building a 5.56 AR-15 shortly so, no biggee in the end. Also, and this is just a nitpickee thing, but what the heck is the tube that is sewn inside the right shoulder strap? You can see it in the pics. It apparently has no function or definition. I want to cut it out just to see what it is but haven’t broke out the knife yet to do it. Speaking of knife. I have a great shoulder mount combat knife that I’d like to mount to the shoulder strap of this rig but there’s no provision for that. Bummer.
